Frequently Asked Questions~
Do you ever resort to using Coercive techniques to
train dogs?
Absolutely not. We are completely committed to the
Positive Reinforcement Training philosophy. We
never, ever use harsh training methods.
Are you bonded and insured?
Yes!
Are you Pet CPR and First Aid Certified?
Yes!
Can you handle my aggressive dog?
Absolutely!
In fact we specialize in training dogs with aggression
issues. Rebecca has extensive work with dogs that
have a history of Resource Guarding and Leash
Reactivity.
I see that you do a lot of work with Golden
Retrievers. Does Positive Reinforcement work with
breeds such as Pit Bulls and German Shepherds?
Yes. There is a mis-perception that you must use
harsh training techniques in dealing with this type of
dog. That is completely untrue. Positive
Reinforcement works with all breeds of dog, from
Yorkshire Terrier to German Shepherd. We never
use Punishment, Shock Collars, Prong Collars or
Choke Chains to handle these dogs. We use
Positive Reinforcement Training always!
Can I call you at the last minute to work with my dog?
If you're a current client that we've already met, the
answer is definitely Yes. We'll always try to fit your
pooch into our schedule (same day bookings cannot
be cancelled as they are outside the cancellation
period. Service fees will be applied if cancelled).
But what if I've never met you?
In order to work with your dog, we must evaluate your
dog first and understand their issues. We need to
work with you in setting up a program and a plan of
action. If interested in DBF training, please call
310.990.6735 to set up a consultation.
Can you provide references? Yes. We have many
happy clients throughout the South Bay and will
gladly provide a list, per your request.
