The Dog's Best Friend Family...
Rebecca Mandell, Owner, Trainer
and Dog Care Provider
Rebecca started Dog's Best Friend in 2005
because she absolutely loves dogs and wanted
to spend her time caring for and training them.
She was discouraged by the heavy handed
training techniques used by other trainers in
the area and knew there was a better way.
That's when she was introduced to *Positive
Reinforcement Training, a method of training
that uses praise and treats rather than
physical and emotional intimidation.
Rebecca is a member of the Association of Pet
Dog Trainers (APDT). She does dog evaluations
and training for the Golden Retriever Club of
Greater Los Angeles Rescue and Rover Rescue
and is Pet CPR and First Aid certified.

Melinda Weaver, Trainer and Dog Care Provider
Having grown up on a farm in Kansas, Melinda
has always had animals, including many dogs, in
her “family.” However, she didn’t begin her
career with dogs until four years ago when a
special dog crossed her path. Her Akita mix,
Muggsy, developed fear aggression toward
strangers, which caused her to seek a career in
dog training. Melinda has recently expanded
that career to dog walking because she
recognizes how crucial proper exercise and
treatment is to your furry friends. Melinda
loves working with all types of dogs and has a
special soft spot for dogs with “quirks” like her
Muggsy.
Melinda has three dogs, Muggsy, Chubbs and
Fenway. She is a member of the Association of
Pet Dog Trainers and is Pet CPR and First Aid
certified.

we recruited all the way from Sweden.
Well, not exactly, she moved to the South
Bay a few years ago to start a new life
(she is fluent in English). Helena absolutely
loves dogs and has one of her own back
home. She is so popular with our canine
clients that she's been called "Mary
Poppins" for dogs. When she stays with
your dogs, she gives them tons of love and
cuddles!

Nicole Titiriga, Dog Care Provider and Pooch
Au Pair
Nicole grew up always having more than one
dog in her life. She has a big heart for
animals and her life long dream is to own two
big German Shepards. For now she has two
little rascals in her life; Chloe, a Chihuahua
Mix, and Frasier, a Jack Russell Terrier.
She has had many Pooch Pajama Parties,
including ones all the way in Las Vegas, so
she is always ready to get the dogs
together for a fun filled night of rolling
around, tug-of-war, and taking turns
scratching each others' tummies. Nicole is
currently attending California State
University Long Beach to earn her masters
in Nursing and she knows after a long hard
day at school all she wants to do is come
home and roll around with her girls, Chloe
and Frasier.
